Appearance
Body/Face: Roku has a caramel colored hair and bright, amber-colored eyes, and sharp, well-groomed eyebrows. Roku has an angular face and high cheekbones. He had a rather tan complexion, as it has never been rare for him to be confused with something other than Caucasian. He has a lean build, but would be considered quite muscular, especially to the undernourished members of Rukongai.
Attire: When not wearing a Shihakusho, Roku tends to wear American-style clothes. He wears jeans, basketball sneakers, and typically a simply colored shirt with am open button-up. It is actually typical of Roku to get into trouble for not wearing his Shihakusho.

Personality
Social: In social environments, Roku is a smart, witty, and charming young man. He has a cynical and sarcastic sense of humor, and loves cracking jokes at his own expense because he firmly believes that women adore that. He is friendly an outgoing, regularly looking to make new acquaintances and friends.
Combat: In combat, maintains a fierce, but quiet anger. He has great distaste for both Hollows and the Human faction for their impacts on the Soul Society, and has trouble separating this seething hatred of those who were uninvolved in the battles. He thinks quickly and calculates his moves with every step. Dodge, counter, position, over and over until his opponent has been destroyed.
Misc: Roku tends to stand with his hands in his pockets, and likes to lean against things like a cool guy. He loves to spend time outside, or playing strategy-based board games like Risk. Recently, he has loved to train with the sword, though he knows he will never understand swordplay to the point that he can actually use it as a Shinigami. Roku hates when people make uncomfortably forward eye-contact, and will actively evade conversations with people who do it.
History
Childhood/Parents: Roku was born to two parents in the depths of the Rukongai. They were poor souls, often needing to steal from the districts that were more well-off than their own in order to survive. As a result, when Roku was born, he also had to steal to survive. This necessitated that he learn to become fast, and from a young age, Roku worked out a lot. He'd run sprints to gain speed, and lift in order to fight people off if they really did catch him. Those combined with his naturally high Reiatsu allowed Roku to ascend to Soul Reaper level power as just a Rukongai resident. He noticed this and began acting as something of a Robinhood. He'd steal from those who had more than they needed and provide for the children of his neighborhood, and slowly became something of a local folk hero.
Early Adulthood/Academy: As Roku got older, he began attracting attention from the Soul Society for his shenanigans, and eventually, was arrested for his many thefts. It looked bleak for him, as the charges were serious and the Soul Reapers had a lot of evidence. He became desperate, and daringly escaped his confinement in the prisons of Sereitei. After this, Roku managed to escape and evade the Soul Reapers at every attempt of apprehending him. It happened that he escaped when under the supervision of a member of the Rose family, a well-respected noble family of the Sereitei was supposed to keep custody of him. As a result, he was deemed a high priority despite mostly petty crimes. Still, no matter who was sent after him, he was able to elude them perfectly, taunting them with notes along the way. Eventually, however, the Soul Society recognized him as a talent for their newly founded stealth and mobility corps, and recruited him directly. Presently, he has an Asauchi for a Zanpakuto and no idea how to use.
